Tree Pruning

Tree Pruning covers crown reduction, crown thinning or crown lifting works. Pruning is generally carried out to strengthen the structural integrity of a tree, to limit any safety issues pertaining to people or property, to improve access, to limit obstruction, to improve light and above all improve aesthetic value.

Crown lifting

Removal of lower branches to give clearance above ground level.

Crown reduction

While maintaining the natural framework of the crown the arborist will shorten the twigs and branches from the tips back by a certain amount quoted in approximate metres while rope safely in the crown of the tree.

Crown thinning

Selective thinning throughout the crown to achieve an even density of foliage around a well-spaced and balanced branch structure. This work can sometimes be done more efficiently with the use of a Mobile Elevated Work Platform or (M.E.W.P) depending on the tree’s situation.
